Chole Bhature Recipe.

How to make chole bhature recipe at home:

You’ll need about 15-20 minutes of cooking time for this recipe.

For the bhature you’ll need:

2 onions

1/2 cup of chole (cooking, not measuring)

a whole carrot

1/2 cup of whole wheat flour

1 tbsp of finely chopped green chillies

1 tsp cumin powder

3 tbsp of oil

For the dressing you’ll need:

1/2 tsp mustard 1 tsp tamarind chutney

1/2 tsp jaggery

1 tsp oil

2 tsp mixed spice

1/4 cup of raisins

4 tbsp sugar

100 gms chocolate

1/2 tsp white vinegar

salt and pepper to taste

Method:

Chop the onions and the carrots very fine. Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onion and carrot. Stir well and cook for about 4-5 minutes. Then add all the dressing ingredients, cumin powder, salt, pepper and vinegar.

Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes. Pour in the chole and make a smooth batter with the help of a spoon. Keep stirring, cook for another 2 minutes. Now, add the bhature batter and stir. Cook for 5 minutes until the bhature gets crispy.

Let the chole bhature cool for about 5 minutes and serve hot or warm with yogurt chutney.

NB- You can make this chole by using cashew flour or gram flour for the bhature.

1/2 tsp white vinegar

salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

In a bowl mix together the chole (dough), chole, vegetable oil, green chillies, lemon juice, sugar and salt. Set aside for about 10 minutes. Make a light coating for the bhature by adding all the dressing ingredients to the bowl.

In a pan heat the oil and then add the batter and stir for a few seconds. Keep stirring to make a smooth batter. Do not let it get too thin as it may get watery if it is too thin.

Cover the pan with a lid and cook it for about 15 minutes. Serve hot or warm.
